Preamble
WHEREAS verified reviews from clients who have completed a consultation are a core trust signal within the eLawyers.pk directory, and their integrity depends on eligibility controls, content standards, and fair moderation;
AND WHEREAS reviews may reference sensitive personal circumstances, this Policy also sets boundaries to protect client confidentiality and advocate professional standing;
NOW, THEREFORE, this Review Policy sets the eligibility, content, moderation, and response standards applicable to reviews published on the Platform.
Article 1
Eligibility to Review
- 1.1
Only a client with a consultation appointment recorded as completed on eLawyers.pk with a given advocate may submit a review for that specific appointment.
- 1.2
Each completed consultation may receive one verified review. A client may not submit multiple reviews for the same appointment, and may not submit a review on behalf of another person.
- 1.3
Advocates, firm representatives, and persons with a personal or commercial connection to the advocate being reviewed may not submit a review of that advocate.
Article 2
Permitted Content
- 2.1
Reviews should describe the client's first-hand experience of the consultation, including communication clarity, punctuality, professionalism, responsiveness, and the advocate's explanation of process and options.
- 2.2
Ratings and written comments must relate to the reviewed consultation and must be submitted honestly and without inducement, incentive, or coordination with the advocate or any third party.
Article 3
Prohibited Content
- 3.1
Reviews must not disclose privileged or confidential legal advice, court filings, opposing-party personal information, or private family or medical details beyond what is necessary to describe the service experience.
- 3.2
Reviews must not include guaranteed-result claims, defamatory or abusive language, discriminatory content, threats, or unverified accusations of criminal or unethical conduct.
- 3.3
Reviews must not include personal contact details, links to external websites, or promotional content unrelated to the reviewed consultation.
Article 4
Moderation and Reporting
- 4.1
Any user may report a published review that appears to violate this Policy. Our team may also proactively flag reviews identified through automated screening or complaint intake.
- 4.2
Reported reviews are assessed against Articles 2 and 3 of this Policy. We may hide a reported review pending assessment, and may remove, redact, or restore it following review.
- 4.3
Repeated submission of reviews found to violate this Policy may result in restriction of a client's ability to submit further reviews and, in serious cases, account-level action under our Terms of Use.
Article 5
Advocate Responses
- 5.1
An advocate may post one public response to a published review concerning their profile. Responses must be professional in tone and must not disclose client-confidential information, even where the client's review references such information.
- 5.2
An advocate response is not a substitute for a formal complaint. Advocates who believe a review violates this Policy should report it in accordance with Article 4 rather than respond with disputed factual claims about the client.
Article 6
Editing and Removal by the Reviewer
- 6.1
A client may edit a published review within forty-eight (48) hours of submission, subject to the same eligibility and content standards in Articles 1 through 3.
- 6.2
A client may request removal of their own review at any time by contacting support@elawyers.pk; the underlying completed-consultation record is unaffected by removal of the review.
Article 7
Relationship to the Complaint Policy
- 7.1
A review is not a complaint and does not, by itself, trigger a Trust and Safety investigation. Clients with a substantive grievance regarding advocate conduct should submit a complaint under our Complaint Policy in addition to, or instead of, a review.
- 7.2
Where a review and a related complaint concern the same conduct, we may consider both in assessing appropriate action against a listing under our Lawyer Listing Policy.
