Lawyer Listing Policy

A professional listing may be created only by a natural person who is enrolled as an advocate with the Pakistan Bar Council or a Provincial Bar Council (Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, or Islamabad), or by an authorised representative of a chamber or law firm composed of such advocates.

An authorised firm representative creating listings on behalf of colleagues must hold actual authority to do so and must ensure that each individual advocate listing accurately reflects that advocate's own credentials.

We may decline, suspend, or delay a listing where eligibility cannot be confirmed, where enrolment appears lapsed or suspended, or where the applicant has previously been removed from the Platform for policy violations.

Listings must truthfully state the advocate's name, bar enrolment number and enrolling council, year of call, courts of practice, practice areas, languages spoken, office location, and consultation modes offered.

Where a listing discloses fee arrangements or ranges, such disclosures must be accurate and must not be used to bait users toward materially different actual charges negotiated outside the Platform.

Advocates must not claim credentials, honours, specialisations, or bar memberships they do not hold, must not use another advocate's photograph or credentials, and must not create more than one active listing for the same individual.

Advocates must promptly update their listing following any material change, including suspension or cancellation of bar enrolment, change of chambers or office, or change in practice areas actively undertaken.

Listings must not contain guarantees of case outcomes, comparative superiority claims that cannot be substantiated, solicitation language directed at identifiable opposing parties, or content that would breach applicable bar council advertising or professional conduct rules.

Listings must not include content that is defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, or that disparages other advocates, courts, or the judiciary.

Advocates must respond to consultation inquiries and messages professionally and in a timely manner consistent with the response expectations set on their profile, and must not use inquiry or messaging channels for purposes unrelated to the client's stated request.

Advocates remain responsible for conducting their own conflict-of-interest checks before accepting an engagement arising from a Platform inquiry, and for complying with confidentiality and professional-conduct obligations under applicable bar rules once a retainer is formed.

Advocates must not use the Platform to solicit clients away from a matter already being handled by another advocate, and must not contact a client's opposing party through Platform features.

A listing becomes publicly discoverable in directory search only after successful verification under our Verification Policy and while the associated discoverability setting remains enabled.

An advocate may disable public discoverability at any time from account or security settings. Disabling discoverability removes the profile from public search and browse results while preserving the underlying account, verification status, and message history.

We may temporarily suppress a listing from search results, without deleting the account, pending investigation of a complaint, a reverification request, or a suspected policy violation.

Creating multiple listings for the same individual, listing under a name other than the advocate's registered name, or creating a listing purporting to represent an advocate without that advocate's authorisation is strictly prohibited.

We may run automated and manual checks to detect duplicate or impersonation listings and may merge, suspend, or remove listings identified as such, and refer confirmed impersonation to the relevant bar council or law enforcement.

Listings are subject to verified client reviews under our Review Policy and to complaints under our Complaint Policy. Advocates may not manipulate their own review count through fabricated consultations or incentivised reviews.

A pattern of substantiated complaints may result in additional scrutiny, temporary suppression from search, mandatory reverification, or removal, in accordance with our Complaint Policy.

We may, at our discretion, require corrective edits, temporarily suppress, suspend, or permanently remove a listing that violates this Policy, our Verification Policy, or our Terms of Use.

Where removal follows a finding of credential fraud or impersonation, we may retain relevant records to support a report to the appropriate bar council and may decline future listing applications from the same individual.

An advocate whose listing is suspended or removed may request review by contacting legal@elawyers.pk, providing any evidence relevant to reconsideration.
